howdie, this title is for my friend Tracy who is hassling me about "abandoning" my blog! This is definitely not the case, however I am very busy with school and trying to find a job...so those of you who check in often, forgive me if I slack but I will be posting several times each month!
OK now that all that is cleared up! What's happening.....
I have no idea where to start because each day it seems I get my head knocked off a bit more in class. (this is a good thing) I must say, hands down, this is the best experience of my life!
Not that I haven't love visiting other countries and meeting new people etc...but in this place you can imagine the electric energy of young adults meeting and then getting fired up about Jesus and not just that, but what the promises are for those who believe....whoooo let me slow down.
ok so it has been made abundantly clear that our hollywood version of this king man who loved everyone and Oh poor guy had to die, is completely false! Wanna know reality? REality is that this man, while in the flesh, was still actually in heaven bc he was never seperated from the Father! And, the reality as hard as it is to hear, is that we are all his creation, and as apotter would do to clay, he would mold it right....well, would the clay say "why are you doing it like that or I don't get you!" NO and if that potter wanted to smash the creation because it was not pleasing to him, would it be his right to do so? YES of course!
Now imagine God, yes the sameloving GOd that we tend to picture, He is the lover and the brother etc.....but He is also the King and the judge and the creator! So, when we as humans (as a whole) choose to neglect Him, or we blatantly disobey, does He have the right as the creator to do whatever He pleases? Of course...now thankfully He is merciful and gracious as well but who are we to question How He does or why He does things.
So I lost some of you...yup...cause this is hard to hear in our microwave immediate gratification, I want it my way society! But the good news is that those who believe and recognize that this life is not the end of the road...for them the promises are immense....just read the book. It's like reading Lord os the rings....seas of glass, rainbows of emerald and we believers gain the inheritance of nations as rulers over dominions! YOOOOO this is crazy...and you may think I am crazy...who cares! There is only one way to find out....live satisfied now, or be unsatisfied and seek Him to see in the end days who is right! I chose the latter!
PRAYER POINTS:
So there is a slice of what I am doing. Otherwise, I am praying and asking others to join me for the overturning of abortion in California and the overturning of gay marriages too. Also I am praying for stronger and harder laws for divorce in america so families will actually have to work a bit to stay together! Finally I am praying that I and you all become awakened by how disillusioned we have become by society thinking that a whole bunch of mess should be "tolerated" and I am praying that God reveal Himself and his truth to our hearts. Pray for my cousin as the birthing of the baby is coming in 2 months. Last, pray for me to find a job or be financially supported somehow! I have been looking but nuttin yet. My bills are very minimal about $400 a month, but my schedule at school changes alot so it is tough. 'til next time!

so much to say!!!
ok so for those of you who don't like to read, this one will be tough!!!! This experience is pretty close to being inexplicable unless I begin to share with you some of the areas we are delving into and things that are happening. Three basic concepts in this entry: my schedule, "love" and "knowing".
1. schedule
So I am basically always at IHOP!!! But I love it so it is cool. Monday through thurday I am in class from 9-12am and then in the prayer room from 1-5p. Friday I dont have class til 2-5p but then we have a mandatory chapel service from 6p-12a. Saturday I have prayer room from 1-5p and sunday small group from 3-5 and service (required) from 6-8p!!!
I would say it is alot, but it is so exciting and invigorating because I am learning so much and the atmosphere is so charged, that the time goes fast. And even the prayer roomtimeis so different each day, study time, reading, meditating, worship...on and onand on!
2. love- OK well, last night was our 6-12 service and Mike Bickle (the leader or IHOP) spoke about LOVE as defined by GOd rather than man or our society. He spoke to what it means to love with all our hearts, soul, mind and strength. how love is more a mandate to self death and obedience to Christ than an emotion.
heart= our affections, we can "Set" our hearts to love meaning we choose it then many moons later, we may feel it according to our purpose to choose!
soul= our personality mainly in the area of our speech. wepurpose our selves to control our complaining and use our mouths to say "wow" and "thanks" to God
mind= thought life as we purpose ourselves to think on things which are pure, holy etc. hold our thoughts captive to Christ and not let the eyes and ears be exposed to things that would create ungodly thoughts
strength=resources meaning our finances, talents, skills, attitude towards others.....it is a form of fasting with strength that we fast the nature of ourselves by doing opposite meaning give more, don't react to others, use our giftings for Christ etc.
3. knowing-
During my prayer room hours today I was captivated by the word "know" so I sat and quietly asked God, what does it mean to know someone (or god)and this is what I got...
knowing someone means: to know their preferences, likes and dislikes and what they look like. to understand what makes them tick at their root and recognize their patterns of strengths and weekness. to smell them. to be aware of their heart issues and sensitivities to know their history and character and tendencies of behavior. it is to connect with their soul and spirit we can never fully know another but it is the pursuit of understanding which requires time and listening. it means conversation, and sharing experiences, it means going beyond the surface, and putting aside personal expectations and seeing them from their perspective, it means pushing and challenging! it meansto take hold of as your own to care for deeply and personally. not havingfear to be naked and vulnerable before them. to allow them to affect you and you to affect them. it is a 2 way street!
wow! after all that do you reallyknow GOd? do you really know anyone? it is not our call in life to work at our ministries or our families and desires. above all our call is to KNOW christ...wow what a charge! BLessings
ps there is a ONETHING conference free Dec. 28-Jan 1. here in KC for anyone interested in experiencing this IHOP place!

week 1
Well, this week began with a meeting with Lou Engle the director of The Call. It was interesting as we were a part of his radio show interview. The next day was registration and orientation and we had a mandatory chapel meeting in the evening with a guest speaker graduate from IHOP...very interesting about filling our lamps with OIL which is saying OIL is obtained by relationship and keeps the lamps lit in darkness....deep. Anyway, I have a bunch of make-up work to do so I have been reading and reading and reading some more!!! Monday starts our real schedule which will be pretty tough bc there is much to do on the weekly agenda.
Prayer requests:
For my cousin and her growing baby and her 2 yr old daughters transition, my adapting and being committed to my tough schedule. For openness of mind and limitlessness of God and prayers for the nation's election as well as fight against abortion, marriage and revival in the US.
